Aenet Lavare came into the chapel and sat down in one of the back pews. She wasn't trying to hide from anyone, she just felt very tired. Jet lag and driving (because this town wasn't exactly close to an airport) were only small parts of the bigger problem. Unlike Aithne, Aenet lived in a world where the creatures of the night were still suppressed by their day walking opposites. She slept during the night and worked during the day.

As a result, she was tired. Very tired.

Sleep came easy to her as she stared at the religious decorations of the chapel. The slumber itself was peaceful but the dreams were not. They felt so real.

There was water running down her body, water that might have been warm at one point but was now so freezing cold. Her arms were going from tired and sore to very numb. It was quiet, though. She couldn't feel any emotions, no residual energies. Maybe it was the water...the running water. Footsteps came just before the light turned on.

"How are we feeling?" That voice was so familiar, but everything was so blurry. The checkered pattern of what she could only assume to be walls reminded her almost of a bathroom. The running water...a bathtub, maybe?

"The Lord is my shepherdI shall not want..."

"Now, your prayers will do nothing," continued that familar voice. "They were no help for your mother and they will be no help for you. I could remove you from the water, but you have more friends than I realized."

He paused, then smirked. "I see you're channeling your sister now. Everyone just thinks you're a simple empath...I guess I'm the only one left who knows your little secret."

"You will get nothing, Orlock. You will never have anything. All you will ever be is a power hungry maggot, never anyone with any real power."

Aenet gasped as she felt someone claw at her chest. She woke up as she hit the ground after rolling off the pew. Three deep scratches had appared on her chest as if the vampire had actually scratched her. He must possess some power, she thought, to be able to touch her through her dreams.
